The classic flow - slice, hit Print, slicer talks to the printer directly - is fine for one or two machines. But when accurate history and real spool control start mattering, the slicer can't be the source of truth. BamDude flips the order: slicer to BamDude to printers. Hit Print, route it to a BamDude virtual printer, then in BamDude pick how many printers and how many copies. Files dispatch, swap macros run, history is written, every gram of filament is logged - across the whole fleet, from one place.

The author volunteers with DrukArmy, Ukraine's largest volunteer 3D-printing effort for the front line — printing, and running the FPV direction as senior curator. BamDude came straight out of that work: batches, deadlines and a farm that has to keep moving around the clock do not fit any off-the-shelf tool.
